Vodacom Tanzania and Airtel provide the widest 4G LTE coverage. Dar es Salaam, Arusha, Moshi (Kilimanjaro gateway), and Zanzibar (Stone Town, beach resorts) are well covered. Serengeti central (Seronera) has 4G near lodges; remote wilderness areas do not. Kilimanjaro trekking routes have no signal above Horombo Hut (~3,720m). Does Flysimio work in the Serengeti?
Yes, near the main lodges and Seronera central area. Remote wilderness camps and northern Serengeti near the Kenya border have limited or no signal. Download offline maps and park guides before leaving Arusha.
Can I use my eSIM on Kilimanjaro?
Signal exists at the lower camps (Machame, Lemosho gate area) but disappears above Horombo (~3,720m). There is no connectivity above the clouds. Inform family of your expected schedule before ascending; satellite communications are available through guides.
Does Flysimio work in Zanzibar?
Yes. Vodacom and Airtel cover Stone Town and the main beach resort areas (Nungwi, Kendwa, Paje). Remote beaches and the Jozani Forest reserve have reduced signal.
What currency is used in Tanzania?
The Tanzanian shilling (TZS). USD is widely accepted for safari and hotel payments. ATMs in Dar es Salaam, Arusha, and Zanzibar Stone Town dispense TZS. Remote parks are cash-only for tips and local purchases.
What is the best time to see the Great Migration in Tanzania?
The calving season (January–February) in the southern Serengeti (Ndutu area) is extraordinary — newborn wildebeest and predator activity is intense. The dramatic river crossings happen in July–October when herds move north to Kenya's Maasai Mara.

Yes. Most phones support dual SIM (physical + eSIM). Keep your home number for calls and SMS — use Flysimio for data abroad. You control which SIM handles what in your phone Settings.
Does the eSIM include a hotspot (tethering)?
Yes, all Flysimio plans include mobile hotspot at no extra charge. Share your data connection with laptops, tablets, or other devices freely.
What happens when my data runs out?
You can top up data from your account dashboard at any time. Top-ups are applied instantly — no need to buy a new eSIM or wait.
Can I get a refund?

How long is the eSIM valid for?
You have 6 months from your purchase date to activate the eSIM. Once activated, the plan validity period (e.g., 7 days, 30 days) begins counting down.
Will the eSIM work at the airport when I land?
Yes — as long as you installed the eSIM before your flight, it activates automatically when your phone connects to a local network on landing. No Wi-Fi required for activation.
What if the QR code doesn't scan?
If the QR code won't scan, you can enter the activation code manually — we include both in the email. You can also contact our 24/7 support team and we'll resend or manually provision your eSIM.
