How a plan reaches you, step by step.
1. Source from tier-1 carriers
Every plan in our catalog is a real data package on a licensed tier-1 carrier network, sourced through our wholesale provider. We do not resell mystery "premium" networks. The carrier behind each plan is named on the destination page so you can verify the network yourself.
2. Price it live and transparently
Prices are read from the live catalog on every page load and refreshed hourly — not typed in by hand and left to go stale. Pricing is shown in US dollars with no hidden activation, "service," or currency fees. When our wholesale cost drops, your price drops with it; we don’t bank the difference.
3. Verify coverage and activation
Before a destination goes live, we confirm the plan activates by QR install on a real device and connects to the local network. Country guides are reviewed on a rolling cycle to track carrier, coverage, and price changes, and re-published with the date of the last review.
4. Rank on transparent, stated criteria
When a guide says "best eSIM for X," the ranking is based on published criteria — price per GB, carrier tier, validity, and hotspot allowance — not on who pays us. If a competitor is genuinely better for a specific need, we say so plainly.
5. Check every competitor figure
Any competitor price or claim in a comparison is verified against that provider’s own live, public pricing at the time of writing, and dated. We do not copy figures between articles, and we do not fabricate speed tests or ratings for products we have not used.
6. Publish under a real byline
Guides and comparisons carry a named author who is accountable for the content, linked to a real bio. Our testing is led by a named editor, not an anonymous "field test unit."
How our Price Index, is calculated.
Our public eSIM Price Index is original research computed from the same live catalog that prices the store. For each of 184 countries we take the cheapest standard tourist plan — fixed data between 3 and 50 GB, valid for at least 7 days — and express it as a price per gigabyte at retail in US dollars.
We use that specific band because it's what a typical traveler actually buys: it excludes tiny 100 MB trial SKUs that would understate real cost, and huge 180-day bundles that few tourists purchase. Because it reads from the live catalog, the index moves when carrier pricing moves — no manual updates, no cherry-picked snapshots.
What we refuse to do.
- Sell a "#1 pick" or "Editor’s Choice" to the highest bidder.
- Publish reviews under anonymous or invented author names.
- Invent speed-test results or star ratings for products we haven’t used.
- Quote a competitor price we haven’t checked against their live page.
- Bury the unit price behind an "introductory" rate that jumps on renewal.
- Run a network of look-alike "review sites" that all crown the same brand.
These aren't abstract ideals. The eSIM space is full of anonymous “review sites” that exist to crown one brand — often their own — with invented testing. Our defense against that is simple: named carriers, named authors, live prices, and a method you can check.
