How does Flysimio eSIM activation work?

(2) We email a QR code immediately; scan it in your phone's Settings → Cellular (iPhone) or Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs (Android). (3) Land in the destination country and your phone auto-connects to a local tier-1 carrier. Total time: under 60 seconds.
Do I need to activate the eSIM before I travel?
No. Install it before you fly and it stays dormant until your phone connects to a network in the destination country. You have 6 months from purchase to activate — the validity period (e.g., 30 days) only starts counting down when the eSIM first attaches to a local tower.
How do I install an eSIM on iPhone?
On Wi-Fi at home: Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Use QR Code. Scan the QR code from your Flysimio purchase email. The eSIM installs in 10–30 seconds. Label the line (e.g., "Italy"), set it as your Cellular Data line, and turn off Data Roaming on your home SIM. Works on iPhone XS (2018) and newer.
How do I install an eSIM on Android?
Samsung Galaxy: Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM → Scan QR Code. Google Pixel: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → Add SIM. OnePlus and others: Settings → Network & internet → SIM & network → Add SIM. Scan the QR code from your Flysimio email — installation takes 10–30 seconds.
What if I lose my QR code?
It stays in your email and in your account dashboard at flysimio.com. You can also request the manual activation code if your phone can't scan QR codes — every email includes both the QR and the manual code.
Can I keep my home SIM active while using Flysimio?
Yes. Most modern phones run dual SIM (one physical SIM + one eSIM, or two eSIMs). Keep your home line for calls and SMS; set the Flysimio eSIM as your Cellular Data line for browsing. You receive home-number calls and texts on the home line — only data routes through Flysimio.
How fast is Flysimio data?
4G/LTE everywhere, 5G in major cities. We partner with local tier-1 carriers (NTT Docomo in Japan, TIM and Vodafone in Italy, AT&T and Verizon in the US, Telefónica in Spain), so you get the same speeds locals do — typically 30–150 Mbps on 4G, 200–500+ Mbps on 5G.
