The short verdict
Dubai is part of the UAE, so your Dubai eSIM and your UAE eSIM are the same product. The UAE has only two carriers — du and Etisalat (now branded e&) — and both have world-class 5G coverage throughout Dubai. The decision is entirely about price. Flysimio offers the cheapest du-routed Dubai eSIM; Airalo and Holafly charge significantly more for the same carrier and coverage.

How this table is priced. Flysimio prices are read live from our carrier catalog every time this page loads, so the figure here is the figure at checkout. Competitor prices are the US-dollar price shown on each provider's own site, read on the date in the last column and linked to the page we read it from; promotional prices are marked alongside the list price. Price per GB is the plan price divided by its included data — unlimited passes have no per-GB figure and are ranked by total price instead. Dubai coverage — what to expect
Dubai has exceptional mobile coverage. Both du and Etisalat operate 5G networks across the entire emirate — the Dubai Marina, Downtown Dubai, Palm Jumeirah, Deira, Jumeirah Beach, Dubai International Airport (DXB), and Al Maktoum Airport (DWC) all have strong 5G. Desert safari routes on the outskirts of Dubai (Al Qudra, Lahbab Red Dunes) also have coverage from du. The only area with limited signal is the deep open desert far from main roads.
Dubai eSIM vs UAE eSIM — what is the difference?
There is no difference. Dubai is one of the seven UAE emirates. A "Dubai eSIM" and a "UAE eSIM" are the same product — the network covers all seven emirates including Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Fujairah, Ras Al Khaimah, and Umm Al Quwain. If you are flying into Dubai and visiting Abu Dhabi, one eSIM covers both.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best eSIM for Dubai?
Flysimio on du is not the cheapest Dubai eSIM in 2026 — checked in August 2026, Nomad also runs on du and priced its UAE plans well below ours at every size, as the dated index above shows. Airalo and Holafly both sell unlimited-only passes for the UAE, so there is no equivalent fixed Airalo plan to compare against. Both UAE carriers (du and Etisalat) have world-class 5G across Dubai, so price is the main differentiator here — compare before you buy.
Does WhatsApp work in Dubai on an eSIM?
WhatsApp text messages work normally in Dubai. WhatsApp voice and video calls may not work over UAE mobile data due to the UAE's VoIP restrictions. Use hotel Wi-Fi or a VPN-capable plan (such as Saily) for voice calls if needed.
Does eSIM work at the Burj Khalifa?
Yes. The Burj Khalifa observation decks (At the Top, levels 124 and 148) have strong 5G from both du and Etisalat. You can share photos and video call over the observation deck Wi-Fi or your eSIM without any issues.
Does a Dubai eSIM cover Abu Dhabi?
Yes. A Dubai eSIM is a UAE eSIM — it covers all seven emirates including Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Fujairah. You do not need a separate eSIM for Abu Dhabi.
Is a Dubai eSIM expensive?
UAE eSIM plans cost more than most destinations because Etisalat and du are a duopoly. Checked in August 2026, Nomad's 5 GB / 30-day UAE plan was $11.00 and was the cheapest of the providers we track; ours sits at the expensive end. The dated index above shows the full ladder with live pricing on our side. All of them still beat hotel Wi-Fi or carrier roaming.
