Salalah has 4G/5G across the city and khareef (monsoon fog) tourism areas. The Wahiba Sands desert has 4G on Route 23 (Muscat–Sur highway) and at main desert camp sites near Al Mintirib; deep dune interiors lose signal. Jebel Akhdar (Green Mountain) has 4G at the rim villages (Saiq Plateau). Wadi Shab and Bimmah Sinkhole have 4G. Is there coverage in the Wahiba Sands desert?
Yes on the main Route 23 highway and at established desert camp areas near Al Mintirib. Deep sand dunes away from the main road have no signal. Download offline maps.
Does the eSIM work in the Musandam Peninsula (Khasab)?
Yes. Khasab town has 4G. Remote fjord areas during dhow cruises may lose signal on the water. Note that reaching Musandam by road requires crossing UAE territory.
What is coverage like on Jebel Akhdar?
The Saiq Plateau rim villages (Sharaijha, Al Ain) have 4G. The road up the mountain passes through zones of reduced signal. The plateau viewpoints near the rose farms have reliable 4G.
Does this eSIM work in Salalah during the Khareef season?
Yes. Salalah has solid 4G/5G year-round including during the July–September monsoon fog season when the city is a major domestic tourist destination.
Can I use this eSIM if I also visit UAE?

Yes. Most phones support dual SIM (physical + eSIM). Keep your home number for calls and SMS — use Flysimio for data abroad. You control which SIM handles what in your phone Settings.
Does the eSIM include a hotspot (tethering)?

What happens when my data runs out?
You can top up data from your account dashboard at any time. Top-ups are applied instantly — no need to buy a new eSIM or wait.

How long is the eSIM valid for?
You have 6 months from your purchase date to activate the eSIM. Once activated, the plan validity period (e.g., 7 days, 30 days) begins counting down.
Will the eSIM work at the airport when I land?
Yes — as long as you installed the eSIM before your flight, it activates automatically when your phone connects to a local network on landing. No Wi-Fi required for activation.
What if the QR code doesn't scan?
If the QR code won't scan, you can enter the activation code manually — we include both in the email. You can also contact our 24/7 support team and we'll resend or manually provision your eSIM.
