Coverage & connectivity.
Orange Réunion provides the widest 4G LTE and 5G coverage across the island's coastal ring road. Saint-Denis, Saint-Pierre, and Saint-Gilles-les-Bains are excellently covered. The caldera interiors (Mafate is car-free and only accessible on foot or by helicopter) have very limited or no signal. Piton de la Fournaise summit and lava field approach have no coverage.

Does Flysimio work in Réunion?
Yes. Orange Réunion provides excellent 4G/5G around the coastal ring road. The Cirque de Mafate (accessible only by foot or helicopter — no roads) is a signal dead zone. Piton de la Fournaise summit has no signal. Download offline topo maps for all interior hikes.
Can I see a volcano erupting in Réunion?
Possibly. Piton de la Fournaise erupts 3–4 times per year on average, with some years having no eruptions and others having six. When activity is at a safe level (Niveau 2 alert), the lava field approach road opens and night viewing is spectacular. Check the OVPF (Observatoire Volcanologique du Piton de la Fournaise) for current status.
What are the Cirques?
The three cirques — Mafate, Cilaos, and Salazie — are ancient collapsed calderas forming dramatic amphitheatres of peaks, valleys, and waterfalls. Mafate has no road access (foot or helicopter only) and about 900 permanent residents. The GR R1 and GR R2 long-distance trails traverse all three.
What currency does Réunion use?
The Euro. Réunion is a full French overseas region and EU member territory, using the same euro as mainland France.
Is shark attack a risk at Réunion's beaches?
Yes. Réunion has had a significantly elevated number of shark attacks (primarily bull sharks) since around 2011. Many west-coast lagoon beaches are safe (sharks cannot enter the lagoon through the reef), but surfing and swimming outside the lagoon are restricted or prohibited at certain beaches. Check local signs and the LMRE (Requins Prevention Committee) updates.

Can I keep my regular SIM while using this eSIM?
Yes. Most phones support dual SIM (physical + eSIM). Keep your home number for calls and SMS — use Flysimio for data abroad. You control which SIM handles what in your phone Settings.
Does the eSIM include a hotspot (tethering)?
Yes, all Flysimio plans include mobile hotspot at no extra charge. Share your data connection with laptops, tablets, or other devices freely.
What happens when my data runs out?
You can top up data from your account dashboard at any time. Top-ups are applied instantly — no need to buy a new eSIM or wait.
Can I get a refund?

How long is the eSIM valid for?
You have 6 months from your purchase date to activate the eSIM. Once activated, the plan validity period (e.g., 7 days, 30 days) begins counting down.
Will the eSIM work at the airport when I land?
Yes — as long as you installed the eSIM before your flight, it activates automatically when your phone connects to a local network on landing. No Wi-Fi required for activation.
What if the QR code doesn't scan?
If the QR code won't scan, you can enter the activation code manually — we include both in the email. You can also contact our 24/7 support team and we'll resend or manually provision your eSIM.
