C&W (+Móvil) and Claro provide 4G/LTE across Panama's main urban and tourist areas. Panama City's Casco Viejo (UNESCO old town), the Miraflores Locks visitor centre, and Panama City Tocumen Airport have excellent 4G/5G. Bocas del Toro archipelago: Bocas town on Isla Colón has 4G; outer islands (Bastimentos, Carenero) have 4G near settlements. Boquete (coffee highlands) has 4G. Volcan Barú National Park gate has 4G; the summit (3,475 m) is outside coverage. The Pan-American Highway from Panama City to David has continuous 4G. San Blas (Guna Yala) islands have no coverage on the small islands — a true off-grid Caribbean experience. The Darien Gap has no coverage.

Yes. The Miraflores Locks visitor centre and Gatun Locks both have solid 4G. The Panama Canal expansion (Agua Clara) visitor centre also has 4G.
Is there coverage in Bocas del Toro?
Yes. Bocas town on Isla Colón has good 4G. Bastimentos Island villages and Carenero have 4G near settlements. Starfish Beach is borderline 3G/4G.
Does the eSIM work in Boquete (coffee region)?
Yes. Boquete town and the surrounding coffee farm roads have solid 4G.
What currency does Panama use?
The balboa (PAB), pegged 1:1 to the US dollar. USD is universally accepted — in practice, Panama runs on USD bills (no balboa paper money), with balboa coins only.

Yes. Most phones support dual SIM (physical + eSIM). Keep your home number for calls and SMS — use Flysimio for data abroad. You control which SIM handles what in your phone Settings.
Does the eSIM include a hotspot (tethering)?

What happens when my data runs out?
You can top up data from your account dashboard at any time. Top-ups are applied instantly — no need to buy a new eSIM or wait.
Can I get a refund?

How long is the eSIM valid for?
You have 6 months from your purchase date to activate the eSIM. Once activated, the plan validity period (e.g., 7 days, 30 days) begins counting down.
Will the eSIM work at the airport when I land?
Yes — as long as you installed the eSIM before your flight, it activates automatically when your phone connects to a local network on landing. No Wi-Fi required for activation.
What if the QR code doesn't scan?
If the QR code won't scan, you can enter the activation code manually — we include both in the email. You can also contact our 24/7 support team and we'll resend or manually provision your eSIM.
