T-Mobile International Pass vs eSIM: the short answer

T-Mobile International Pass costs $10 for 1 day with 2 GB of high-speed data, $50 for 10 days with 15 GB, or $75 for 30 days with 30 GB, plus calling. A Flysimio eSIM with 10 GB for Japan, the UK, Italy or France costs $11.75 for 30 days, and 20 GB costs $20.50. For a trip of a week or more, an eSIM gives you the same or more data for roughly a quarter of the price. The pass is worth it if you want calls on your US number included, or if your T-Mobile plan already includes enough free roaming data that you only need a short top-up.

How this table is priced. Flysimio prices are read live from our carrier catalog every time this page loads, so the figure here is the figure at checkout. Competitor prices are the US-dollar price shown on each provider's own site, read on the date in the last column and linked to the page we read it from; promotional prices are marked alongside the list price. Price per GB is the plan price divided by its included data — unlimited passes have no per-GB figure and are ranked by total price instead. Where these competitor prices came from

Check your free T-Mobile roaming first

Many T-Mobile plans already include some data and texting abroad at no extra cost, often at reduced speed. If that is enough for maps and messages, you may not need anything. If you want full-speed data for photos, video calls or a hotspot, compare the International Pass with an eSIM using the table above.

When the International Pass is worth it

  • You need to make and take calls on your US number and want them included in one price.
  • A one-day stopover, where $10 for 2 GB is simple and you skip installing anything.
  • Your phone is locked to T-Mobile and cannot add a second eSIM.

Keep your T-Mobile number and use an eSIM for data

Install a Flysimio eSIM before you fly, set it as your cellular-data line, and leave your T-Mobile line on for calls and texts. Your T-Mobile number keeps receiving calls and SMS codes while the eSIM carries your data, and WhatsApp and FaceTime work over the eSIM data. Turn off "Allow Cellular Data Switching" on iPhone so the phone does not fall back to T-Mobile data.

Frequently asked questions

How much is T-Mobile International Pass in 2026?

$10 for 1 day with 2 GB of high-speed data, $50 for 10 days with 15 GB, and $75 for 30 days with 30 GB, according to T-Mobile in October 2026.

Is an eSIM cheaper than T-Mobile International Pass?

For trips of a week or more, usually yes. A 10 GB Flysimio eSIM for Japan, the UK, Italy or France costs $11.75 for 30 days, against $50 for 15 GB over 10 days on the pass.

Can I use an eSIM with my T-Mobile phone?

Yes, if the phone is unlocked. T-Mobile unlocks phones that are paid off. The travel eSIM runs as a second line for data while your T-Mobile line keeps your number.

Do I need the International Pass if my plan includes roaming?

Not always. Many T-Mobile plans include basic data abroad. The pass, or an eSIM, is for when you want more full-speed data than your plan includes.
