Iceland's three carriers have rolled out 4G/LTE along all coastal roads and main settlements. The full Ring Road (Route 1, 1,332 km) has 4G at virtually all populated stretches. Reykjavík city and Keflavík Airport have 5G. The Golden Circle (Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss) has excellent 4G. The South Coast (Seljalandsfoss, Skógafoss, Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon) has 4G on Route 1. The Snæfellsnes Peninsula main road has 4G. The Highlands F-roads (Kjölur, Landmannalaugar) are largely without coverage — standard for remote volcanic interior. The Westfjords main roads have 4G at most villages. Does this eSIM work along the full Ring Road?
Yes. Route 1 (Ring Road) has 4G at virtually every populated stretch — towns, farms, fuel stations, tourist sites. Brief gaps occur in uninhabited coastal and lava field sections between settlements.
Is there coverage in the Highlands (Landmannalaugar, Kjölur)?
No. The Interior Highlands F-roads have no mobile coverage. Download offline maps (Maps.me or OsmAnd) and carry a satellite communicator for Highland driving.
Does the eSIM work at the Blue Lagoon and Jökulsárlón?
Yes. Blue Lagoon (Bláa Lónið) near Keflavík and Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon on Route 1 both have solid 4G.
Can I use this eSIM for northern lights hunting?
Yes. Reykjavík and all Ring Road sites have 4G so you can check the aurora forecast apps in real time. Remote dark-sky spots off the main road may have weaker signal.
Does Iceland have daylight saving time?
No. Iceland stays on GMT (UTC+0) year-round. There is no clock change. In summer, Iceland is 1 hour behind the UK and 2 hours behind Central Europe.

Yes. Most phones support dual SIM (physical + eSIM). Keep your home number for calls and SMS — use Flysimio for data abroad. You control which SIM handles what in your phone Settings.
Does the eSIM include a hotspot (tethering)?

What happens when my data runs out?
You can top up data from your account dashboard at any time. Top-ups are applied instantly — no need to buy a new eSIM or wait.
Can I get a refund?

How long is the eSIM valid for?
You have 6 months from your purchase date to activate the eSIM. Once activated, the plan validity period (e.g., 7 days, 30 days) begins counting down.
Will the eSIM work at the airport when I land?
Yes — as long as you installed the eSIM before your flight, it activates automatically when your phone connects to a local network on landing. No Wi-Fi required for activation.
What if the QR code doesn't scan?
If the QR code won't scan, you can enter the activation code manually — we include both in the email. You can also contact our 24/7 support team and we'll resend or manually provision your eSIM.
