Hello, traveler. — Plans from $0.75
Algeria is Africa's largest country by area, stretching from the Mediterranean coast through the Tell Atlas mountains to the vast Sahara Desert — which covers 90% of its territory. Algiers, the "White City," cascades down hillsides to the Mediterranean. The ancient Roman city of Timgad, the cave paintings of Tassili n'Ajjer (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and the golden sand dunes of the Ahaggar highlands await adventurous travellers.

Coverage & connectivity.
Djezzy and Mobilis provide 4G LTE coverage across Algeria's northern populated strip including Algiers, Oran, Constantine, and Annaba. Major cities and the Mediterranean coast are well connected. The Saharan south (Ghardaïa, Tamanrasset, Djanet) has 4G in town centres. The Tassili n'Ajjer plateau and Ahaggar massif are remote with no mobile coverage — expeditions require satellite communication.
Questions about Algeria
Does Flysimio work in Algeria?
Yes. Djezzy, Mobilis, and Ooredoo cover the northern cities with 4G LTE. Algiers, Oran, Constantine have excellent coverage. Saharan gateways like Ghardaïa and Tamanrasset have 4G in town. Remote desert areas and Tassili plateau have no signal.
Do I need a visa for Algeria?
Most nationalities (including US, UK, EU countries) require a visa for Algeria. The visa process can be complex and time-consuming — apply through the Algerian embassy in your country several weeks in advance. Arab League nationals and some African countries have easier access.
What is Tassili n'Ajjer?
Tassili n'Ajjer is a UNESCO World Heritage plateau in southern Algeria, containing one of the world's most important collections of prehistoric cave art — over 15,000 engravings and paintings depicting animals and human scenes from 10,000 BCE onward. Access requires an organised expedition from Djanet.
Is Algeria safe for tourists?
The northern cities and Mediterranean coast are generally accessible for tourists. The Saharan south (Tamanrasset, Djanet) requires a registered guide and prior authorization. Regions near the Libyan, Malian, and Nigerien borders are security-restricted — check your government's travel advisory before planning.
What currency does Algeria use?
The Algerian dinar (DZD). It's a closed currency — it cannot be exported and official exchange rates apply. Exchange at the airport or banks. Algeria has a significant parallel (black) market for currency exchange, but this is illegal and risky.
What is an eSIM?
An eSIM (embedded SIM) is a digital SIM built into your phone. Instead of a physical card, you scan a QR code and your plan installs instantly — no SIM tray needed.
Is my phone eSIM-compatible?
iPhone XS (2018) and newer, most Android flagships from 2020+, and all Samsung Galaxy S21+ devices support eSIM. Check our compatibility page for the full device list.
How do I install the eSIM?
After purchase, we email a QR code. On iPhone: Settings → Cellular → Add eSIM → Scan QR Code. On Android: Settings → Network & Internet → SIMs → Add eSIM. The whole process takes under 60 seconds.
Can I keep my regular SIM while using this eSIM?
Yes. Most phones support dual SIM (physical + eSIM). Keep your home number for calls and SMS — use Flysimio for data abroad. You control which SIM handles what in your phone Settings.
Does the eSIM include a hotspot (tethering)?
Yes, all Flysimio plans include mobile hotspot at no extra charge. Share your data connection with laptops, tablets, or other devices freely.
What happens when my data runs out?
You can top up data from your account dashboard at any time. Top-ups are applied instantly — no need to buy a new eSIM or wait.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. We offer a full refund within 14 days of purchase. Contact contact@flysimio.com with your order number.
How long is the eSIM valid for?
You have 6 months from your purchase date to activate the eSIM. Once activated, the plan validity period (e.g., 7 days, 30 days) begins counting down.
Will the eSIM work at the airport when I land?
Yes — as long as you installed the eSIM before your flight, it activates automatically when your phone connects to a local network on landing. No Wi-Fi required for activation.
What if the QR code doesn't scan?
If the QR code won't scan, you can enter the activation code manually — we include both in the email. You can also contact our 24/7 support team and we'll resend or manually provision your eSIM.
