Quick answer
A good number of HONOR phones support eSIM, but not the whole range and not everywhere. HONOR's own published list covers the Magic flagships and foldables, the HONOR 90, 200, 400 and 600 series, several Lite models, and parts of the X series. The catch — and HONOR states this itself — is that eSIM may not be available even on a listed model depending on which country the phone was made for. Always verify your specific handset before relying on it for a trip.

What about the HONOR 200 Lite?
This is the single most asked HONOR eSIM question, and the answer is a little awkward: the HONOR 200 Lite does not appear on HONOR's official eSIM list, while the HONOR 400 Lite and 600 Lite do. The standard HONOR 200 and 200 Pro are both listed. So if you have the 200 Lite specifically, do not assume it is covered by the 200 series being listed — check the handset directly.
Check your HONOR in 10 seconds
- Open the dialler and type *#06#.
- If an EID appears alongside the IMEI, your phone has eSIM hardware.
- No EID means no eSIM, and no update will add it.
- You can also check Settings, then About phone, then look for EID.
How HONOR handles dual SIM
On HONOR dual-SIM models the second slot is configurable — you can use it as either an eSIM or a second nano-SIM, but not both at once. On single-SIM models the second slot is eSIM-only. For travel this is exactly what you want: keep your home nano-SIM in slot one for calls and texts, and run the travel eSIM in slot two for data.
Installing a travel eSIM on a HONOR phone
- Buy your destination plan before you fly — installation needs Wi-Fi, and you will not have data on arrival.
- Open Settings, then Mobile network, then SIM management.
- Select Add eSIM, then Scan QR code.
- Scan the QR code from your Flysimio email. Installation takes under a minute.
- Set the travel eSIM as your mobile data line, and leave your home SIM as the default for calls.
- Turn off Data roaming on the home line so it cannot bill you by accident.
One HONOR-specific limitation worth knowing: HONOR's eSIM Transfer feature, which moves an eSIM between HONOR devices, only works with specific carriers in select regions — Europe, Mexico, and a small number of others. It is not a general-purpose transfer tool.
Frequently asked questions
Does the HONOR 200 Lite support eSIM?
The HONOR 200 Lite is not on HONOR's official eSIM-supported list, although the standard HONOR 200 and 200 Pro are, and the later 400 Lite and 600 Lite are. Do not assume the 200 Lite is covered — dial *#06# and look for an EID to confirm.
Does the HONOR 400 support eSIM?
Yes. HONOR lists the HONOR 400, HONOR 400 Pro, and HONOR 400 Lite as eSIM-capable. Availability can still depend on the country your unit was made for, so check for an EID before buying a travel plan.
Does the HONOR 400 Pro support eSIM?
Yes, the HONOR 400 Pro appears on HONOR's official eSIM device list. As with all HONOR models, eSIM may be unavailable on units built for certain markets, so verify with the *#06# EID check.
Which HONOR phones have eSIM?
The Magic4 Pro through Magic8 Pro, the Magic Vs through Magic V5 foldables, Magic7 and Magic8 Lite, HONOR 90, 200, 200 Pro, 400, 400 Pro, 600, 600 Pro, the 400 Lite and 600 Lite, and the X8c, X9c and X9d.
Why does my HONOR not have eSIM when the model is listed?
Because HONOR ships different SIM hardware to different markets. HONOR states that eSIM may not be supported even on a listed model depending on the country of origin, so a phone bought in one region may lack it while the same model sold elsewhere has it.
Can I use a travel eSIM and my normal SIM at the same time on HONOR?
Yes. On dual-SIM HONOR models you keep your home nano-SIM in the first slot for calls and texts while the travel eSIM runs in the second slot for data. Set the eSIM as your mobile data line and switch off Data roaming on the home line.
