Does an Asia eSIM work in China?
Yes, on the right tier. Mainland China is included on Flysimio’s 12-, 19- and 20-country Asia plans and excluded on the 7- and 14-country ones, so check the plan card before you buy. Hong Kong and Macau are on the 12-, 14- and 20-country plans, and Taiwan on the 12-, 14- and 19-country plans. How much data do I need for a two-week Southeast Asia trip?
For typical tourist use — maps, messaging, social media, and some photos — 10 GB over two weeks is comfortable for most travelers. Heavy streamers or remote workers should look at the 20 GB tier or a country-specific unlimited plan.

Do I need to register a SIM in Hong Kong?
Only for a local one. Since 2023, every SIM card issued by a Hong Kong operator must be registered to its user, and unregistered cards are cut off. The Hong Kong government has said roaming SIMs are not affected, so a travel eSIM — a foreign line roaming on Hong Kong networks — needs no registration.
