The Great Walks are genuinely offline
If your trip includes Fiordland's Great Walks, know that they are true no-signal zones. New Zealand's Department of Conservation states there is no cellphone coverage anywhere on the Milford Track or the Routeburn Track — not on the trail and not at either car park — on any carrier. The Kepler Track and the Milford Road are much the same once you leave Te Anau. This is not a Spark-versus-One-NZ question; nothing reaches in there.
